INSPIRATION

A páramo is an ecosystem 3,000 m above sea level in the Andean region of South America. It's unique low temperature environment allows for special plant life to collect rainwater through their leaves and root systems.

Our newest pillowcases by Zuahaza showcase a block weave of geometric shapes, contrasting the raised textures to bring softness and warmth for the colder months ahead. Available in an assortment of colors: Sage Green, Olive Green, Cielo Blue, Nieve Cream, and Ochre Yellow, each hue is found directly in the páramo ecosystems of Colombia and is perfect for a rainy day.

Tatiana Ordoñez and Veelie Alba

Zuahaza was founded by Tatiana Ordoñez in 2019 in Colombia. In 2018, Tatiana made a trip to Charalá to learn about the rich history of cotton growing, spinning and weaving in this region. During her trip, she met with Corpolienzo, a cooperative of artisans. Together, they decided to create a new line of textiles, born of the artisans’ extensive knowledge and of Tatiana’s desire to share creative, innovative textiles with the global market.
