The crocheted cotton circles are inspired by Moray, an archaeological site located near Cuzco, in Peru and are assembled by hand by a group of skilled artisans. They are added to the dress one by one giving it an elevated and unique style. This piece is made by one of our partner workshop in Comas, where it is knitted with attention to detail and care.

The word Muna comes from the Andean principle Munay, which means love with a purpose. For us, this is translated as walking in the same direction even if we are different in body and mind.
After studying a bachelor in business and working in a reputed transnational company, Isabella Elias (Founder) decided to change her course by leaving the corporate world and exploring Peru. During this journey, she discovered the wealth of local materials and cultural traditions of her country, which inspired her to embrace the art of weaving.
Muna was born in 2020 with the purpose of celebrating and reinterpreting Peruvian heritage by creating conversational pieces generating dialogue around Peruvian cultural wealth.
Our designs are steeped in history, culture, and tradition. Each collection tells a unique story, drawing inspiration from emblematic places across Peru such as Machu Picchu, Moray, and Qenqo. We also celebrate the diverse cultures that have flourished throughout generations, including the Chimu and Paracas
