HerStory
Megan grew up as a tomboy-meets-girly-girl nicknamed "Eddy," carrying an inner fire that would later inspire her brand's name. Her fashion industry experience and entrepreneurial spirit led her on solo adventures through India, where she discovered her true calling as a designer. While building her dream business, she embraced another life-changing role as mother to Irish twins, proving that passion knows no bounds.
The Origin
In 2019, what began as a thoughtful gesture to create custom wedding attire turned into an unexpected entrepreneurial journey. During a work trip to India, Megan collected fabrics and designed unique looks for her bridesmaids and herself, aiming to make everyone feel stunning without breaking the bank. When the pandemic altered her wedding plans, she adapted, ultimately celebrating in both an intimate beach ceremony and a larger gathering where her custom designs caught everyone's attention.
The overwhelming response to these designs sparked a revelation for Megan, a fashion industry veteran who had always dreamed of starting her own business. Taking a leap of faith, she returned to India solo, spending an intensive month in New Delhi creating Eddy's first collection. During this time, she traveled to remote areas of Assam to partner with Maati Centre, an NGO empowering women in isolated communities – establishing early on that sustainability and giving back would be core to her brand's DNA.
Eddy's distinctive style emerged from combining sustainable materials with playful, detailed embellishments. The brand's whimsical yet wearable pieces, featuring hand beadwork, embroidery, and signature fringe details, quickly resonated with both specialty boutiques and major retailers. From those first samples worn by friends at a Sedona bachelorette party to becoming a respected name in sustainable fashion, Eddy has maintained its commitment to creating feel-good pieces while supporting women's empowerment – all while its founder navigated new motherhood with Irish twins.
