Banniere
Washington D.C. Scarf by Banniere
Original artwork by Riley Sheehey by Banniere
Riley Sheehey is a watercolor, multimedia artist and textile designer. Before becoming a full-time artist, she taught elementary school art and developed a love for whimsical style and playful details. Her artwork reflects this imaginative view of the world with fun color palettes and attention to detail that evokes a viewer's curiosity. Although Riley has lived in the DC area for almost fifteen years, she is continually finding herself inspired by the city in new ways. This DC scarf design features all the best parts of this historical city mixed in with Riley's signature botanicals including the cherry blossoms and tulips that cover the city each Spring.

I decided to start Banniere after traveling the world and falling in love with the unique and varying styles and cultures in different towns and cities. I had a background working in Fashion for other companies such as Stubbs and Wootton and wanted to start something on my own that combined my love of travel, art and fashion. Through Banniere, I was able to work with these local artists and come up with designs that emanate these different cultures and turn them into wearable art: a silk scarf.
