Meet the women

HerStory

“When I first found out that my dad might have Parkinson’s, I immediately wanted to do something -anything- to help. I threw myself into learning about the disease, hoping to find something that contradicted what the doctors were saying, and coming up with all kinds of contingency plans... just in case it turned out to be true.

Although it took some time to confirm my worst fear, the whole thing still came as a shock. The news took time to sink in, and we, as a family, knew there were some big new challenges headed our way.

It’s been ten years since then, and my dad is a daily inspiration. He lives life as the same positive, caring person he's always been, joking around and taking time for others. He's a remarkable guy, and the time for me to step up to the plate is long overdue. When someone you love is diagnosed with a disease like Parkinson's, it can be hard to know how to be there for them and show your support. Squar’d Away is my own way of giving back.”

The Origin

Squar'd Away is the classic bandana, elevated and reimagined in pure silk. We started with one small accessory and one clear goal in mind, to raise as much money as possible for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in support of our founder's dad Isaac. Now, nearly six years later, we continue to grow, having expanded into other silk accessories, jewelry, footwear and even apparel (coming soon!) with our mission going strong. We update classic wardrobe staples that add a touch of fun and individuality to any look with our original, signature patterns and high quality materials. Squar'd Away accessories are all made in small batches and produced in limited editions. We use environmentally conscious printing techniques and our packaging is made of recycled materials. Samples, seconds and damages are used to create new small accessories including our scrunchies and necklaces so nothing goes to waste.
